Do we even need lessons in today’s times? Aren’t we supposed to know everything by now? The answers that you’re about to read may surprise you. Not like the rabbit being pulled out of a hat surprise though.
Singing lessons are the only way to make sure you are going to grow in your singing at a steady pace. Having lessons battles prevents flatlining your progress and keeps you away from derailing your steady growth. Lessons also instill knowledge and understanding about singing.

It Makes it Harder Without Them
Without any sort of singing lessons, you are giving up to chance to become better.
Think about it, if you keep on walking but you hope to reach your destination but you don’t take an effective path towards it then you are expected to reach the destination without an arrival time.
Imagine being at the airport and your flight is delayed. It annoys you because you have already been waiting for that flight for two hours and now I have to wait another two hours.

The reason you need to study skills is that you can dissect certain skills and you can learn them in parts.
A good teacher (online or in-person) would know which skills come first so that the culmination of those skills can make you achieve the third skill which would be impossible to have without prior knowledge of the preceding skills.
By that I mean if you have a great posture but you have really bad breath work then it doesn’t matter how well or which song you sing because you are going to run out of breath regardless of whether you are standing in the correct posture or not.
So we need both the skills of standing correctly and the correct breathwork in order to perform a culmination of the skills which is the end goal of performing the song.
A Word on Talent
We would all like to believe that we have an innate ability to do something and we do. I like to believe that the innate ability that you are naturally good at and what I refer to as a talent; will show in some areas of music, but not all the time.
So if you are a singer and you have a natural knack for having a really good physical presence on stage then it might not show when you are practicing singing but it will definitely show when you perform live which is a part of the performance when you sing for a crowd.
